When several young engineers from White Sands Missile Range in New Mexico founded Autotronic Controls Corporation back in 1970, their goal was to develop a lean burn fuel system that met the requirements of the upcoming fuel and emission demand being placed on the auto industry.

It was a cool and rainy day outside the JE Complex in Huntington Beach, California, but the moment I walked through the door into the spacious lobby I was greeted with warm smiles and handshakes from Kathy Flack, Promotional Coordinator.

The name Mark Williams is one of the best known in the world of drag racing, no, not as a racer, but as a manufacturer of the highest quality axles, brakes and driveline components available. Mark Williams Enterprises was born in the early 1960’s as a race car chassis shop.

Drag racers love the sound of a high revving motor making loads of horsepower! There’s nothing better than being laid back in the seat grabbing gears heading for the finish line. And there’s nothing worse than your thrill ride coming to an abrupt end with a big bang!

The inspiration came on the starting line at Firebird International Raceway just outside Phoenix, Arizona, in late January of 1997.  Bruce Bowler ran through all the points he recently learned at drag racing school trying to get the Taks Toys A/Fuel dragster to shut down.

When Dean Carter won the 2003 NHRA World Championship in Competition Eliminator, the phone at Eaton Enterprises wouldn’t stop ringing. Why, because Craig Eaton and staff of Eaton Enterprises of Glendale, Arizona, built Carter’s engine.
