1. What was the single most important factor in you winning the Super Stock Championship?
Staying focused round after round after round after round. It’s a long season but I try not to get caught up in looking at the big picture when it comes to a season. I try to treat every round like it’s the only one and give it 100 percent each run down the track. This way of thinking helped my driving to be very consistent this year and to keep my mistakes to a minimum.

What advice would you give a Super Class racer that would most help him win?

The best advice I can give any racer in any class is to relax, don’t get over anxious. Don’t try to “get the win”, be patient and the “WIN” will come to you!

DRUSA:  When were you Super Gas World Champion and was the level of competition then, as hard as or harder than it is today?

GECKER:  I was the world champion, in 1987 and 1999.  Both were Super Gas Championships.  The difference between then and now is cars are running more speed with consistency because of bigger motors, better components, tires, converters, transmission's and electronics'
