RIDE-IN SHOW SET FOR MARCH 7 Custom Motorcycle Contest Revs
Up Daytona Bike Week with Unique Rolling Sculptures
MILWAUKEE (February 20, 2007) - Some of the world’s coolest custom
motorcycles will be the main attraction at the annual Harley-Davidson
Ride-In Show on Wednesday, March 7 at the upcoming 66th annual Bike Week
in Daytona Beach, Fla. Harley-Davidson owners are invited to enter the
competition for cash and trophies, while motorcycle enthusiasts can
check out the sweet selection of rolling artwork.
Owners can enter their Harley-Davidson motorcycles in the Ride-In Show
Contest to be held on Wednesday, March 7 at the Ocean Center Arena, 101
N. Atlantic Avenue. Registration is from 8-11 a.m., with judging to
follow by Harley-Davidson design experts and prize awards. The $10 entry
fee is donated to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, and each
participant receives a special edition commemorative plaque designed by
Willie G. Davidson. "Best of Show" winners in each of the judging
classes will receive a $500 cash prize and a trophy. In addition, $500
cash prizes will be awarded to the top Sportster and top Big Twin
motorcycles using Harley-Davidson Genuine Motor Accessories. There is no
charge for spectators to attend the Ride-In Show.
“Daytona is a prime opportunity for the Harley-Davidson riders who spend
countless hours customizing their motorcycles to display the results of
their hard work,” said Art Gompper, Harley-Davidson Director of
Marketing. “The passion and attention to detail that goes in to these
custom Harleys always makes for an incredible show.”
The Harley-Davidson Ride-In Show has also been one of the biggest shows
at Daytona Bike Week for more than 20 years. This year, there will be
Ball of Steel Stunt Shows and live entertainment outside the Ocean
Center during the Ride-In Show.
Other Harley-Davidson events at various times during the week at the
Ocean Center include the Harley-Davidson and Buell new product show,
H.O.G. member activities, Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) Auction
and Bike Raffle, motorcycle product and technical seminars, and the Ford
Harley-Davidson ™ F-Series Display. There will also be Harley-Davidson
and Buell Demo Rides at the Daytona International Speedway and
activities at Harley-Davidson dealerships in the Daytona area.
A full schedule of Harley-Davidson Bike Week activities will be posted
on www.harley-davidson.com. The site will be updated daily throughout
