CAN REMEMBER ERIC MEDLEN BROWNSBURG, Ind. – BP/Castrol, which established a special e-mail address for get well messages while Eric Medlen was fighting for his life, has set up a new address at which fans and friends can offer condolences to the family of the professional race car driver, who succumbed to his injuries last Friday. Fans can leave their messages at goodbyeeric@castrol.com. Those messages will be assembled, printed and placed in a scrapbook that will be presented to the family. Medlen, 33, suffered severe head injuries when his Funny Car crashed during routine testing last Monday at Gainesville (Fla.) Raceway. He underwent a successful cranjectomy procedure on Tuesday, but his other major organs began to fail shortly thereafter due to the trauma. Services for the six-time NHRA POWERade tour winner will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Connection Pointe Christian Church, 1800 N. Green Street, in Brownsburg. |
