| Team Kalitta Nitro Nuggets This week at Kalitta Motorsports – Thursday, March 22, a group of pilots and support staff from Kalitta Air came by to take a tour of the race shop in Ypsilanti. The group of approximately 25 guests spent about an hour checking out the other side of Connie’s business. Some of you may have noticed a new addition to the Team Kalitta traveling circus at the past few NHRA national events. Our newly remodeled and freshly decorated technical trailer made its debut at the Winternationals in Pomona. The full-size semi-trailer was given a colorful facelift by our great decal specialists at PRO CAL in South Carolina before the recent Gatornationals. The tech trailer is not only used to store tires, short blocks, and other race car parts, but it also serves as a rolling machine shop with a mill, lathe and other neat toys for track-side use. Get Well Soon Eric! Funny Car driver and friend Eric Medlen crashed into a concrete guard wall during open testing at Gainesville Raceway Monday and remains in critical condition at Shands at the University of Florida medical center. Our entire team wishes to extend a wish for a speedy and full recovery to Eric and his family. Please send your get well wishes to getwelleric@castrol.com Upcoming NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series event – O’Reilly NHRA Spring Nationals Houston Raceway Park Houston, TX March 30-April 1, 2007 The O’Reilly NHRA Spring Nationals begins Friday, March 30, for the nitro-fueled classes with one qualifying session at 4:00 p.m. (CT), and then another qualifying session at 7:00 p.m. Two more qualifying sessions follow on Saturday at noon and 3:00 p.m. The top sixteen qualified cars will race Sunday in final eliminations beginning at 11:00 a.m. Upcoming ESPN2 TV coverage (ET) – O’Reilly NHRA Spring Nationals 3/31/2007-Qualifying 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. 4/1/2007-Eliminations 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. 4/6/2007-Repeat Eliminations 4:00 a.m. – 6:00 a.m. For more info about Kalitta Motorsports, please visit www.kalittaracing.com |
