2005 Interviews

Team Kalitta Nitro Nuggets

This week at Kalitta Motorsports –

Dave Grubnic, driver of the Zantrex-3 Top Fuel dragster, made a trip this week to visit all of the fine folks at Zantrex-3 in beautiful Salt Lake City, Utah. Dave spent some time talking with the corporate staff about the racing program, and he was also able to spend a great deal of time with a lot of the employees Thursday morning signing autographs and enjoying pastries in what has become an annual event, Donuts with Dave. Thanks to everyone in SLC for making this year’s event such a success! You can read more about Donuts with Dave and other Team Kalitta happenings on our NHRA.com blog…

Hillary Will, driver of the KB Racing LLC Top Fueler, was one of several speakers who spoke to Detroit-area high school students at the annual car show extravaganza AutoRama at Detroit’s massive Cobo Center. Hillary along with NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle driver Steve Johnson, drag racing announcer Dave McClelland, and other racing stars addressed the crowd of about 2,000 students about choosing careers in the auto industry.

Also there to speak was legendary custom hot rod builder Chip Foose. As you may recall, Chip has been involved with Kalitta Motorsports through our mutual relationship with Mac Tools over the past year. Chip’s personally designed paint schemes on Doug Kalitta’s dragsters in Las Vegas and Indianapolis and Scott Kalitta’s Funny Car in Indy in 2006 were huge favorites for race fans.
