With New ACDelco Sweepstakes KJ is Driven to Win for the Fans

Innovative Drag Racing-themed promotion starts with ACDelco NHRA Gatornationals

Sugar Hill, Ga., March 15, 2007 – With his dramatic win in Phoenix two weeks ago, ACDelco Cobalt pilot Kurt Johnson extended an impressive streak which has seen the second-generation racer score at least one national event per season to an impressive thirteen years, the longest such active streak in the highly competitive Pro Stock category.

Recognizing their sponsored driver’s consistent winning effort, automotive parts leader ACDelco has designed an innovative new promotion allowing customers to join in celebrating future Johnson victories. ACDelco and KJ are proud to announce the ACDelco “Drive to Win” promotion, which will be held over the next 20 races and awards racing trips, scholarships, and prizes, including the grand prize: a 2007 Cobalt SS complete with Genuine Chevrolet Accessories.

“I think it’s awesome that ACDelco has come up with a contest tied into our performance on the track,” stated Johnson. “This ACDelco Cobalt crew enters every race to win, and we have been fortunate to collect our share of trophies over the years. There are 20 races during the course of this contest, and we’re going to do everything we can to make a lot people happy.

“It’s just too bad that it doesn’t officially start until Gainesville, because we could have already had a winner in Phoenix. Even so, I urge people to stop by the ACDelco website and enter and then watch our races on ESPN2 to see if they’re a winner.”

Beginning with the upcoming ACDelco NHRA Gatornationals, consumers will be able to enter the sweepstakes by visiting ACDelco’s website www.acdelco.com, and clicking on the “Drive to Win” icon, or stopping by the dynamic, all-new “ACDelco Pros Who Know Tour” display on the manufacturer’s midway. In addition to being able to win one of numerous instant prizes including ACDelco footballs, chairs and umbrellas, they will also be entered to win a trip for two to the ACDelco Las Vegas NHRA Nationals October 25 – 28, 2007; a trip will be awarded each time Kurt Johnson wins one of the designated races. At that race, each trip winner will receive a key that could start the 2007 Cobalt SS grand prize, which will be featured throughout the year at NHRA events and select locations on the ACDelco “Pros Who Know Tour” display.

“ACDelco’s 10+ years as Kurt Johnson’s sponsor provide us weekly opportunities to test our automotive aftermarket parts and products under extreme conditions on the track and to promote ACDelco’s quality brand image,” said John Eck, ACDelco merchandising and promotions manager. “Kurt Johnson has a proven record of winning and ACDelco’s ‘Drive to Win’ promotion allows consumers and service trade customers to reap rewards for his victories, too.”

ACDelco markets quality parts for Ford, Chrysler, Toyota, Nissan, Honda, GM and most vehicles on the road today. To find an ACDelco parts retailer near you, log on to acdelco.com or call 1-800-ACDelco.
