Final PMRA date reset for
Lancaster
Pro Modified Racing Association final rescheduledCLARENCE,
New York (September 24, 2006) – Last weekend’s PMRA Challenge presented
by G-Force Race Cars event at Lancaster Raceway Park in Clarence, NY has
been rescheduled for Saturday, October 14.
The Travel USA Central presents Pro Mod Shoot Out is the rescheduled
September 15 race was rained out at the Western New York state track.
This event will be a day show, rather than in the evening.
Joining the PMRA Pro Modifieds will be the CAN-AM Stock/Super Stock
Series. This popular grass-roots drag series that features competitors
from Ontario, New York and Michigan, was formed in 1996, and continues
to grow each season. The participants, known for their awesome wheelies,
are fan favorites wherever they appear.
With the three top Pro Modified Racing Association teams within 10
points of each other going into Lancaster Raceway Park for the final
event of the season, this final round of Pro Modified action will
determine the 2006 PMRA champion.
Joe Boniferro climbed into top spot in the standings with his recent
PMRA win at the Grand Bend Motorplex and is tied with Kasey Jansen for
this final race of 2006.
Both Boniferro, of Niagara Falls, ON, and Jansen, of St. Catharines, had
amassed 1440 points, while 2005 PMRA champion Joe Lilienthal of Kenmore,
NY, was right behind with 1430 points.
The Chevy Beretta of Sonny and Jack Grainy of North Tonawanda, NY, are
next in order with 1320 points, and they are tied with the Rude Stude
Racing team of Mark Mitchell of East Otto, NY.
Defending Lancaster champ Bruce Boland of Hamilton, Ontario, will also
be on hand trying to make it two in a row at the Buffalo-area track.
Qualifying for the PMRA teams gets underway at 1:30 p.m. and 2:45 p.m.
on the Buffalo-area eighth-mile strip, with final eliminations scheduled
to begin at 4:00 p.m. for the quickest four cars.
The final Pro Modified Racing Association event, Travel USA Central
presents Pro Mod Shoot Out PMRA Challenge presented by G-Force Race Cars
will take place Saturday, October 14 at Lancaster Raceway Park, just
outside of Buffalo, in Clarence, New York.

The PMRA and its member teams traveled to several new drag strips in
2006, including Sanair in Quebec, and the western Ontario tracks of St.
Thomas Dragway and the Grand Bend Motorplex. The tour was a great
success for the series, which enjoyed strong fan popularity.
Negotiations will soon be underway to return to these tracks, along with
Toronto Motorsports Park and Lancaster Raceway Park and several other
venues to present some of the best in Pro Modified racing for 2007.
