| Spiering makes quickest Pro Mod
field in IHRA history, loses in first round at Rockingham Dragway

“There is no question we can make the power, this G-Force Camaro is
an awesome race car.”
ROCKINGHAM, North Carolina (October 22, 2006) – Despite another strong
qualifying effort, this time at the IHRA World Finals in Rockingham,
North Carolina, the Eaton Electrical Supercharged Pro Modified Chevrolet
Camaro driven by Carl Spiering suffered a first round loss.
“We’ve been able to qualify the Eaton Road Warrior at every event this
year, but our track record in eliminations has been very disappointing,”
said Spiering. “There is no question we can make the power, this G-Force
Camaro is an awesome race car.”
Spiering, the 41-year old driver from Jordan Station, Ontario lost in
the first round of eliminations at Rockingham Dragway in the Universal
Technical Institute World Finals, the final event of the 11-race IHRA
eMax Nitro Jam™ Drag Racing Series this year, to Eddie Ware from
Marietta, GA and his 1967 Camaro.
"Although our race luck was not there this year we want to emphasize our
success at being one of the very few teams to qualify at each event. Our
ERD engine program has gone three consecutive seasons with no failures,"
said Spiering. "The good news, we continue to lead the chase for the
2007
Torco Race Fuels Pro Modified Shootout," he added. "We have those
bragging rights over all other teams."
The Torco Race Fuels Pro Modified class points are based on a team’s
final qualifying spot at each national event. The top eight in points
will have the opportunity to participate in the 2007 Torco Race Fuels
Pro Modified Shootout, which will be held at the IHRA Northern Nationals
in Martin, Michigan.
